Upper Valley Segment Running Challenge
From May 1st to May 31st, the Upper Valley Segment Running Challenge is active! The gist of this month-long challenge is this: There are 6 segments located all around the upper valley; each is roughly .4 miles long. Every segment completion nets you 1 point, and whoever has the most points at the end of the competition, by 11:59pm May 31st, wins. You don’t have to run all of these segments — in fact, you could win the entire competition by only running one segment (a lot of times). Hello, UVRC! While we might see a few more flakes fall before we put away all of our cold weather gear, I still think it’s safe to say that spring has sprung! As I have come to learn in this, my third spring in the Upper Valley, the official kick-off to the season has nothing to do with the date of the equinox. but rather, the running of the Shamrock Shuffle.
