Getting to Know the Whites

I moved to the Upper Valley four years ago. One of the first things I did was search for a running club. I learned about the White Mountains mostly through fellow runners: hiking the 48 4,000 footers, staying in AMC huts, and the iconic Presidential Traverse. I told myself that the first time I summited Mt. Washington, I would do so on foot. Tree Planting

There are many things in life worth doing. Being part of the running club has been one of them since I joined in 2015. It has given me a place where I feel I am part of and proud to be a part of. It keeps me healthy for other things I like to do in life. Being part of a group, I like to help when I can and that is why you can see me at the annual picnic cooking at the grill or helping with parking every year or so at the Mount Washington Road race. What is it that makes the UVRC such a special club? There are many things, but first and foremost, I would argue, it’s all of you, our amazing members. I’ve had the pleasure of leading the Saturday morning runs for the past year or so, and there are a few examples that stand out in my mind.
