Directors present: Tim Smith, Geoff Dunbar, Julie Paye, Betsy Gonnerman, Jim Burnett, Mike Silverman, Paul Coats
Directors absent: Rob Edson, Kim Sheffield
Non-Directors present: Mike Gonnerman, Bill Young
- NHGP: The UVRC team will be awarded money for winning the 2015 series. In addition, there will be a few age-group winners, who also will receive money. The Board thought it would be nice if there were either a plaque or banner to acknowledge this achievement posted at Omer & Bob’s. Jim Burnett and Geoff Dunbar will be attending the NHGP meeting in December, where the races for 2016 are decided. UVRC will be nominating 4 races. Geoff suggested that we might reward racers who have participated in a large number of NHGP races with prizes and/or apparel, similar to the singlets this year.
- Shoe recycling: Jim has been in contact with a company, the More Foundation Group, which will collect gently-used running shoes. A collection box will be put at the Hanover Turkey Trot on Nov. 22. The plan will be to have other collection points in the future: other races, businesses, etc. Jim will send out a notice to UVRC members re this endeavor. Bill Young offered to make a sign as well, to put at the UVRC tent on Sunday.
- Mile markers: It was decided that mile markers would be ordered, with UVRC logo, to be used at races. Mike Silverman said that CBHM would pay for them. Jim Burnett will take on this venture.
- Couch to 5K: It was agreed that this was something the club wanted to do again in 2016, preferably starting in April, with a targeted race in June or July.
- Salt Hill Pub run: Kim had suggested a run from Lebanon Salt Hill to Hanover Salt Hill, but there are concerns about a safe route, given the traffic on Rte. 120. It was thought that this might be possible on trails.
- Coaches: It was suggested that there be a subcommittee designated, to explore this option – possible candidates, cost, need.
- Treasurer’s report: Paul announced a balance of $7,008, less money owed for mugs. This is about $1,000 over last year. Revenue comes from dues, donations, and Foliage Five proceeds, as well as apparel sales. The Board is requesting that a budget be prepared, so we know what monies are available for the club’s use. Julie Paye offered to help Paul with this.
- Snowshoe race: Bill Young asked if there was any interest from the club, in putting together a snowshoe race during Dartmouth Winter Carnival. It was suggested that he reach out to the Winter Wild Series director or DERT.
Minutes submitted by Betsy Gonnerman, Secretary.
