Board Minutes – December, 2015

- NHGP: Jim and Geoff will be attending the NHGP meeting on Dec. 16, where the races for the 2016 series will be decided. They will be submitting recommendations from our club.
- Shoe recycling: Jim reported that he has sent off 2 boxes containing 50 pairs each, after collections at the Hanover Turkey Trot and the Jingle Bell Run. He has talked to Omer and Bob’s about a collection box in their store, and they are receptive, starting in the spring. It was agreed that other collection sites would be pursued – e.g. other races, Dartmouth gym
- Mile markers: Jim reported that the CBHM race co-director, Mike Silverman, has offered to pay for plastic mile marker sandwich boards (up to $1,200) to be used for local races including the CBHM. The plastic sandwich boards (15+/-) will be reusable and we will get a local printer (Gnomon, Staples) to print out and laminate customized numbering and lettering.
- TNT 12/22/15: Plan is to have an informal good-bye for Rikke after TNT; pizzas at the DOC House will be organized by Mike Silverman. Jim will send out an announcement about this, when he sends the TNT workout.
- Winter TNT: Tim, Jim and Nancy will share the responsibility for winter TNT. Nancy will do the second Tuesday at Occom Pond, as she did last year. The first and fourth Tuesdays will be at Occom Pond as well, with the 3rd Tuesday on Tuck Drive.
- MWRR: Mike G. reported that he had heard from the race director, who has promised the club 8 bypass numbers in exchange for 8 volunteers (same as last year). The date of the race is June 18.
- Coach: Tim plans to talk to Kim, and to other possible coaching candidates.
- Couch to 5K: Everyone agreed that the club should continue this program, after the enthusiastic response last year. Paul has talked to several participants from last year’s program, who want to be coaches for this year. He will talk to Kim – a target 5K race has to be chosen (hopefully, in June or July), and then the start date 10 weeks prior.
- Budget: This discussion has been postponed until next month.
- NHGP championship recognition; Tim talked to Omer and Bob’s, who have agreed to display this. Paul will look into options/prices for a banner.
- Newsletter: The Board thought Susanna might want additional help on the newsletter. Jim has offered to call her and discuss.
- Other targeted races: The issue had been raised by members as to whether the club should promote other races, e.g., masters championship road and/or cross-country races. No decision was made.
