Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and the corresponding race cancellations and future uncertainty, we are putting the 2020 Upper Valley Running Series on hold. We’re issuing refunds to everyone who signed up for the full series, and putting our 2020 plans on hold. We are still hoping to do a series in late summer/fall if circumstances permit, but we have no announcement about that at this time. The former list of races for the 2020 series is still a list of good races, but there is no guarantee that any part of that list will be part of a 2020 UVRS. (You can see the old UVRS page, with list of races, here).

No action should be required to get a refund; you should receive an email from Lebanon Recreation in the next week. I’m hoping that all of you will stay in the UVRC for 2020! But if you don’t want to, we can refund that too; reply to Krissy Flythe or Geoff Dunbar if you want a refund on your UVRC membership as well.

For those of you who completed the 2019 UVRS and entered the Covered Bridges Half Marathon, that race is cancelled for 2020. However, your registration will automatically roll over to 2021, no action required.

Upper Valley Running Series (Currently On Hold)

The UVRS is a series of existing road races in the Upper Valley. The goal is to encourage participation and competition in Upper Valley road races, with recognition for performance and participation for runners. Runners who are members of the club at the time of the race do not need to register separately for the UVRS series; simply participating in the road races through the standard registration process qualifies a runner in the series. However, to score, you must be a member of the Upper Valley Running Club! More information on joining the club can be found here.

2020 Series

Please note that date and times of races are tentative and can change as each race approaches. We will try to keep this page as current as possible as we get more information.

You can sign up for the entire series via the club. This option ensures you are signed up for each race and provides an overall discount to each race. 2020 series registration is available now!

Series Registration (Lebanon Recreation)

New for 2020! The series preview race, the Red Zone 5K, will count as a race towards your “Series Finisher” status, though it will not be eligible to score points in the age group standings. Red Zone 5K results here. In addition, for races with two distances, both races will be eligible for “Finisher” status (note that only the designated race is eligible for point scoring).

** Runners only get series points for completing the designated distance in races with multiple distances. Pay attention to this page to ensure you sign up for the correct distance! New for 2020, completing the non-designated distance will be eligible for series finisher status (though not points).

*** For 2020, if you register for the whole series through Lebanon Recreation (above), you will not receive a T-shirt from the Tuck Run for Veterans.

Prizes

For the few, proud Series Finishers (criteria coming), we present a “UVRS 2020 Finisher” prize. The Finisher prize for 2020 includes a guaranteed entry (bypass the registration window, but not a free entry) to the 2021 Covered Bridges Half Marathon, as well as some other sweet swag.

Age group prize winners (top 3 in each age group) will be recognized at the Awards Banquet as well.

The series award ceremony is to be determined.
