UVRC Campout

Save the Date: UVRC Campout, June 13-15

Our (inaugural?) UVCR group campout is a little over a month away! Friday and Saturday, June 13 & 14, come join your UVRC buddies for some fun at Barnes Field Group Campground in New Hampshire’s White Mountain National Forest during the Mt Washington Road Race weekend. This is right by Dolly Copp Campground, and about a 5 minute drive to the start of the race.

We will be staying in Group Site 4, and there is a limit of 40 people. I imagine there will be plenty of room for everyone who wants to join (even your family!), and if we run out of room for vehicles, there’s an overflow lot nearby. Carpool if you can.

Arrive anytime after 2 p.m. on Friday, get settled in, and dinner will be on your own, as the big race is the next morning and everyone has their own pre-race meal quirks. After the big race, eventually make your way back to the campground where we can have a fun afternoon and evening of sharing food and beverages, yard games (bring what ya got), a campfire (with s’mores!) and, of course, lies about our race. If anyone is motivated, we can even go for a hike/walk around the campground. You can be lazy on Sunday morning, as checkout time isn’t until 12 p.m., or you can get up early and tag a few of those gnarly White peaks. There can also be an optional group run from the campground on Sunday morning for those that are interested.

Who is this for? YOU!! Whether you’re running/volunteering at Mt Washington or not, it doesn’t matter. We just want to have a fun weekend of hanging out together in the mountains, and if you happen to be running Mt Washington, you now have a prime camping spot just down the road from the start. And the camping isn’t going to cost you anything. WOOHOO! And if you’re not running the race, you can use the campground as a basecamp for a diy White Mtns adventure weekend.

Please let us know if you’re planning to attend by filling out this form.
