Well, there were bound to be a few kinks in the new system. Laura and I managed to get confused, and we left an article out of the December newsletter! It’s timely enough that I don’t want to wait until January, so with apologies to Jim Burnett, here is the missing article, “NH Grand Prix 2017 Wrap Up”.

NH Grand Prix 2017 Wrap Up
By Jim Burnett
After winning the team competition in the 2015 and 2016 NH Grand Prix Series, UVRC slipped to third in 2017. With only one “home” race in 2017 (Canaan Run From the Law 5K) and the Shamrock Shuffle 5K taking a required break from the schedule after providing the Wooly Syrup Chuggers with a big team lead at the beginning of the past two seasons, UVRC had to watch from the sidelines as Greater Derry Track Club eked out the team championship over The Gate City Striders. But UVRC hopes to get at least two home races on the schedule and to drum up participation for another run for the championship in 2018.
The 2017 series was not without highlights. Four Chuggers earned Granite Runner status by running in all eight series races – Geoff Dunbar, Cindy Edson, Rob Edson and Tim Smith. Rob Edson won the male age-graded competition for the third time in a row and Cindy Edson placed third among women. Age group winners included Geoff Dunbar M40-49, Rob Edson M50-59, Cindy Edson W40-49 and Betsy Gonnerman W70+.
