• Used Running Shoe Collection

UVRC to start collecting used running shoes for recycling, “re-purposing”, through the More Foundation Group. Look for the UVRC collection box at the Hanover Turkey Trot 10K on November 22nd, 2015.

Did you know that your old athletic shoes (running & soccer) can be re-purposed into agricultural training, tree nurseries, and much more? A single pair of used athletic shoes can also remove one ton of carbon from the atmosphere, while helping lift an entire family out of poverty. Those dusty shoes in your closet have more power than you know!

The MORE Athletic Shoe Re-purpose Program: We want to help you harness that power by supporting the MOREFoundation Group (a Delaware 501c3 non-profit.) MORE provides used athletic shoes to vendors in Africa. The proceeds enable MORE to send millions of tree seeds and training to the poorest of rural farm families.

Shoes to Trees: Instead of decomposing in landfills, your used athletic shoes can be re-purposed to offset tons of carbon from the atmosphere and regenerate farm land through agro-reforestation. Get all the facts at MOREFoundationGroup.org

How You Can Help: Bring in your used – but not abused – athletic shoes. The MORE Foundation needs athletic shoes (running and soccer, sizes 6 – 12.) It’s time to change your shoes and change lives.

  • Hall Looks to Repeat Top ATR Finish

    Loon-Mt-Race-7.05.2015-SNAPacidotic-Hall

The USATF-NE All Terrain Runner Series comes to a dramatic conclusion this coming Sunday at the Seasons 20k in Acton, MA. While there are cash and awards on the line for many age groups, the silver tuna is the $1,000 cash money payment going to the winner of the overall series (each for male and female). Kasie Enman has conveniently (and impressively) wrapped up the women’s series but the men’s series is in play. But who are the contenders?
